What is being done?
To help raise the public awareness of elder abuse and provide support to victims of elder abuse, there are many organizations and programs established in the society. The Administration of Aging (AOA) is an agency from the government of United States that administers programs addressed on the issue. In different states, there are also branches of the government department to help administer programs that raise the citizens' awareness on this issue. In Texas, they have a program called "It's everyone 's business", which provides a kit with informations about elder abuse for people to learn about the issue. Moreover, the Adult Protective Service (APS) prevents elders in different states from exploitation through legislation. (Public Awareness, m.d.)

Also, there are organizations like the Ageless Alliance that hold events and campaigns to get the public's attention onto the issue. (WEAAD Inspiration, n.d.)They make use of social media like videos and posters to provide background knowledge of the issue to the public. In addition to that, every year on June 15th, it is the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day held by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse. (World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, n.d.)
